Handsome Hounds & Pretty Pooches Dog Grooming was established over 20 years ago in 2000 by professional groomer Nicki. The new modern, warm and clean studio is designed with the latest equipment to make your pooch as comfortable and as stress free as possible during the stay. Your much loved pooch will be the only dog in the studio and is handled and pampered only by Nicki on a personal one to one basis. She prefers not use crates during your dog's stay just a comfy bed once the groom has finished. She also offers CAT and RABBIT nail trimming and dog teeth cleaning. Nicki has relocated from Leamington Spa to Mablethorpe to enjoy living by the sea so has availability for new clients whether residents or holiday makers. It is testament to her ability that some clients are continuing to bring their dogs to be groomed from Leamington which is 260 mile round trip!
About Nicki the Groomer
Nicki is fully trained and has been grooming since 2000. She has experience of most types of dogs and has personally owned, cared for and loved over the years a Labrador, Rottweiler, German Wirehaired Pointer, Beagle, Springer and Cocker Spaniel's, and also various cross breeds. She currently loves and adores two Cocker Spaniels.
Nicki has a good working relationship with most types of dog as she understands canine body language and psychology. Now specialising in small to medium sized dogs not over 25kgs. In particular the elderly, anxious and challenging dogs that need a bit more time to complete a groom. The dog's welfare is of upmost importance and she will do what is best for the dog to be made comfortable. She also offers painless teeth cleaning using the Emmi-pet ultra sonic tooth brush. This can save on expensive vet costs and no need for an anaesthetic. This is proving to be very popular and the results are very pleasing. Over the years she has attended many courses, seminars and demonstrations to stay aware of standards and techniques. She has often been asked to contribute to local radio stations and has given grooming demonstrations at public events.
