Also being a dental nurse for seven years her knowledge comes in very useful regarding mouth care. Please note: If she feels the mouth is not suitable for the Emmi Pet system she will recommend you seeing your vet. Does your dog have smelly breath or bleeding gums? Often the only way has been for the vet to anaesthetise your pooch which as we know is expensive and comes with a risk factor but now there is a new ultra modern way of maintaining a healthy mouth. Start early to prevent too much tartar and the Emmi Pet teeth cleaning system will do the rest. How it worksThe Ultrasonic tooth brush uses a Piezoceramic chip located in the toothbrush head. Although we can't see it, it moves up to 96 million oscillations per minute! Along with the specially formulated toothpaste this gently helps to remove the build up of staining and tartar and also most importantly bacteria in the mouth. This treatment thoroughly cleanses the whole mouth reducing down the smell, dental calculus and gum disease. Totally painless process. There is no sound or vibration so comfortable for your pooch. How long does it take?Each session lasts 20-30 minutes. The dogs don't usually tolerate much more. If there is a heavy build up more than one treatment will be required. Please note that in some cases it will not be suitable for an unhealthy mouth where the tartar build up is extensive. How much does it cost?This is quite affordable to most people and I have kept the cost as low as possible. After all we are all finding our wallets being squeezed! Each session costs only £20. Just be aware your pooch may need more than one session but you will notice a huge difference after just one session. The microchip head is an additional cost of £10 but will last until your pooch damages it. MaintenanceNicki will suggest the time scale necessary to maintain a healthy mouth. But ongoing involvement with the owner will continue to keep a healthy mouth. She recommends you purchase Enzymatic toothpaste made by Virbac available online or from your vet. Even if your pooch will not tolerate you brushing their teeth this toothpaste helps to reduce bacteria and tartar build up. (Just a small amount on your finger placed inside each side of the mouth will be beneficial).
